Correspondence, clippings, speeches, and photographs relating to the Arizona Sunshine School and the Tucson Womans Club, particularly its campaign promoting safety on the roads. There are photographs of children of the school in the 1930s including outdoor classrooms, playgrounds, snow day, and activities at school and on field trips to places such as the Saguaro National Monument, Sabino Canyon, Gill Ranch, Tonto National Monument and Tombstone.

Ann Ellison married Percy Wyman Hodges; they arrived in Tucson in the 1930s. They taught and administered the Arizona Sunshine School in Tucson. The open-air private school was opened in 1927 by Evelyn Merriman and advocated a healthy, outdoor lifestyle.
